Save money, save paper AND save the date!!

I love my clients….many of them are SO creative and think outside the box.    I just received a “save-the-date” from two of my June clients that they sent out to all of their lucky guests.  In today’s age of technology (and thinking “green”), I think it’s just perfect.  Feast your eyes on their You Tube slideshow Save-The-Date.

Joan and Manie, you guys are awesome….I am in love with this idea and SO excited for your wedding!!

Paper Source’s Wedding Event is back!!

Paper Source’s complimentary wedding event/workshop is BACK and scheduled for Saturday, February 21 at all of their locations!!  I went to this  event last year at South Coast Plaza and had alot of fun, I highly recommend stopping by your local Paper Source and getting some wedding stationary inspiration!!

The schedule of events for the workshop is as follows:

11:30 am – Announcing the Big Day
12:45 pm – Inspired Invitations
2:00 pm – Tasteful Tabletop Décor

You can also fill out this raffle ticket and bring it with you to the event to be included in their raffle!  No need to RSVP, just show up and enjoy!

Also, for those Marthas at heart, they have a smaller, more intensive workshop (class is limited to 15 people) where they will assist you in creating some samples of invites, favors, escort cards, etc.  The March 5 workshops have sold out at most Southern California locations (except Beverly Hills and Thousand Oaks), but they still have March 19 workshops available!  Click here to register for this $35 workshop….the $35 is worth it for the champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries alone!!

Sale extended at Rock, Scissor, Paper!!

Rock, Scissor, Paper just extended their sale until tomorrow, Friday, August 1, everything in the entire store is 20% off!!  For those of you that haven’t seen their collection, they are adept at making the cutest retro and vintage looking invites and stationary.  Most of their invites come in three formats, blank (so you can print them yourself), fill-in (if you have gorgeous handwriting, why not add another vintage element), or custom-printed.

This is one of my favorites, which could be perfect for a casual wedding, or even an engagement party or Save-The-Date:

What a sweet option for a bridal shower!

These more general ones could be used for anything wedding-related (or not!):

If Audrey Hepburn had a bachelorette:

And don’t forget about your rehearsal dinner!

And lastly, they have the cutest thank you cards, so you will actually be motivated to send those out immediately following your wedding!

Make sure to water your invitation….

In today’s day and age, I know more and more of us are becoming conscious of being more “green,” whenever we can, so why not get an invite you can plant afterwards??  Of The Earth is now offering flower seed paper that can be directly printed on, to create gorgeous earthy invites!!  Your guests can plant the invites after receiving them, and be rewarded with a gorgeous garden of multi-colored wildflowers.  The invite that keeps on giving!

Thank you to my bride Catherine for introducing me to this eco-friendly vendor!

Box it up, I’ll take two!

I adore boxed invites…..of course I am biased, since we sent out boxed invites for our own 2007 wedding.   I think if it’s in your budget to do, they can really create a WOW factor for your guests, and get them excited about what’s to come!!

My own labor our love, our semi-DIY boxed invites (design by Prim and Pixie, thermography by Inkspot Thermography, assembly and embellishment by yours truly!) photographed by the ever-amazing Evoke Photography!  We filled the boxes, from PaperMart, with coral crinkle paper before placing the rhinestone-buckled pocketfolds in them and sealing them shut with a green belly band created from some Avery label sheets.

One of my craftiest brides, Ashley, has been blogged by AHS Photography for her gorgeous invites below, and for good reason!!  She filled the box with little orange candies before placing her beautifully gocco’d invites into them, and then finishing them off with some twine and an adorable tag.  Ashley and her husband Jeff decided these beauties were too precious to send via USPS, so they hand delivered each one personally!!

Some other eye-catching boxed invites from Prim and Pixie

Perfect for a beach wedding:

I love the detail of the delicate flower placed on top of these:

Definitely setting the tone for a glam wedding:

A simpler version, with no additional embellishment, letting the invite and the box speak for themselves:
