GASP WORTHY: Christian Louboutin peep-toe glitter pumps

One of my 2010 New Year’s resolutions was to be a much more regular blog poster, so I’ve decided to add a weekly feature to the blog entitled “Gasp Worthy”.  It will feature one or two items that I’ve stumbled upon that week that I crave, covet, and/or would rob a bank for.  I’ll be blogging about them in hopes that one of my dear clients will purchase said items, and I can then live vicariously through them while they prance around in the said shoes/dress/clutch/underwear/headpiece/etc.

Today’s gasp worthy item was found while perusing for a birthday item to add to my list.  Although the hubs is a most amazing gift giver….it turns out he is an even more amazing gift giver when I drop hints about what I like.

Wouldn’t this be THE most amazing bridal shoe?  Glittery, metallic, and most importantly…  Own it here!

Toss that thing!!

I recently learned a fun fact about the origin of the garter toss, from the Wiki:

Historically, this garter tradition relates to the belief that taking an article of the bride’s clothing would bring good luck. As this often resulted in the destruction of the bride’s dress, the tradition arose for the bride to toss articles of clothing to the guests, including the garter.

Ripping apart my dress? What!?!?  I know this garter toss tradition isn’t always followed by modern brides, but wearing a garter is such a fun way to infuse a little bit of your own personality into your wedding day garb.  It’s such a fun keepsake to have, and putting that garter on makes for cute pictures, so get one…..even if you are choosing not to toss it!!

I know many brides opt to do the sports-themed garter (I chose an Oakland A’s garter myself as a surprise to my husband!), or go with the traditional “something blue” garter, but there are tons of other great options out there!!

For the loyal Hello Kitty fans, Tarina Tarantino has created something to drool over with her Pink Head Bride Lace Garter:

Tarina Tarantino also has a gothic version of the garter for you darker Hello Kitty fans out there, the Gothic Lolita Garter:

Sew Unique Garters has an adorable Betty Boop version:

Jean M created some fun options for the animal in you:

For you Disney fanatics out there….a garter would be such a fun way to add a little bit of Disney into your day!  This one is by Garters by Gingersnap:

Garters by Gingersnap also had something for all of the biker babes out there, faux leather, watch out!!

Garters by Kristi has a fab option for the polka-dot lovers out there!

Brides can even match their wedding colors…..I think every color combination imaginable is out there, and if it isn’t, many garter makers will custom make anything, including Garters by Kristi:

Under where??

Brides sometimes spend upwards of 6 months searching for the perfect dress, but what about what to wear under it??

For a smooth look, I know many of us bow down to Spanx, said to be able to take inches off your waist and hips.  This strapless full slip may be the perfect undergarment for those wearing a body-hugging gown, made of unforgiving slinky material like silk charmeuse:

For the bride that needs a little more support, a classic bustier may be in order, although some say that this can sometimes add inches to the waist and bust, because of the heavy material.  Below is the underwire bridal bustier by Le Mystere (found at Nordstrom):

A less glamorous, but equally effective undergarment can be to have your seamstress add some good old-fashioned bra cups directly into your dress.  Most wedding gowns have so much boning and support, that the bra cups are all you need for a smooth line:

And then for the underwear….what is sweeter than ruffle butt panties??  These, made by Honeydew Intimates, are the perfect “something blue” for a bride:

And finally, the panties I myself chose for my own wedding, the uber-flattering boyshort personalized with your new married name and wedding date.  I fell in love with this idea so much, that not only did I buy them for myself, but I’ve also given it to every engaged friend as a gift at their bachelorette party.  It is the first day you’ll be able to wear “Mrs” apparel, so why not start with your underwear?!

Personalized hotshorts, found at for $15.97, a variety of colors and fonts to choose from (Please note, this is not my actual behind, God has not been that kind to me in that department):
